Things I Love Thursday: This week went whoosh!

I feel like this week has whizzed by, but I also feel like I made some significant progress on some of my goals and in altering my lifestyle more to my liking.  As I look over the list of things I loved this week I realize there really was a lot that happened this week.  This is another reason to keep a weekly gratitude list.  How often do we forget all those wonderful little things that happen during our life?  I like to keep my list handy and just add to it throughout the week.  Looking over it really helps boost my mood.

And without further ado my list of wonderful little things that made me laugh, smile, or totally nerd out this week.

Self-Love: Is Buying Yourself Flowers

Self-Love is important.  And there are so many ways to practice it.  In one of her recent posts, Radical Self Love Manifesto, Gala Darling talks about radical self-love and what it is.  Gala has some great posts on self-love.  One of the things I love to do for my own personal self-love routine is to buy myself flowers.  They are so pretty and just looking at them makes me happy.  As a lifestyle lolita let me quote a line from Princess Skye's "The Princess Code."

Things I Love Thursday: Friendship Rocks

This past weekend I spent some great time with friends and went to an awesome 80's party.  I played Pac-Man, visited a tea room, watched a whole bunch of Firefly, and so much more.  Here are some of the awesome things I loved this week.

10 books I Loved Reading

I had a nice weekend.  I took a day out on the bike to do errands, the Texas heat and sun beating down on my skin. Sun block is an essential.  One of the wonderful stops I made was the local book store.  It is one of my favorite haunts.  The owner is a fabulous person to talk to and there are several books to just lose yourself in.  I found one in particular that simply had to go home with me that day.

Things I Love Thursday: Double the Music

Well it seems I forgot to add in the 8tracks I loved to last weeks TiLT post.  That means extra 8tracks this week!  It has been a super busy week, but I also feel like I am making good progress in some of my goals.  Especially the writing goals.  I got to join in and watch a wonderful Virtual Star Party on Sunday and I have read some great astronomy news.  Here is my gratitude list this week.

This holiday takes place on May 18th each year.  It was originally created by the International Council of Museums in 1977.  I originally found out about this holiday from the very useful site Holiday Insights.  Holiday insights has a great list of bizarre, wacky, and unique holidays.  But there is so much more info out there about International Museum Day.  Just check out the the International Council of Museums' website.  Or the website set up specifically for the event.  It has press updates, details on this years theme, and a map of all the locations that will be participating.

3 Lessons I Learned in April's Camp NaNoWriMo

This past April I set out to work on my main writing project.  My goal  was to write a mini encyclopedia for myself.  To put the details of the world, countries, fauna, and flora all in one file.  As it is a fantasy world, with magic and cultures all its own, there are many details to keep track of.  I succeeded in getting some good information down.  However I failed to reach my word count goal or write on it everyday as I had intended.  This is what I learned about my writing during April.

May Try-Its

Often times I hear people talk about how important it is to set 1, 5, and 10 year goals.  I also hear them talk about setting incremental goals.  It is a great way to feel like you are making progress and that feeling can help you make it to your bigger goals.

Things I Love Thursday: Are you ready for finals?

To all those who are getting into their finals week soon and those who are already doing their finals:  Hang in there.  Study well.  But don't forget to take care of yourself.  That means you should remember to eat and sleep.  But it also means you need to do nice things for yourself.  Finals week can take a toll on you and your energy.  So remember to stop and enjoy the little things.
